Kate Philp was born in Africa, brought up in Scotland and currently lives close to the border of Northumberland, where contrasting stretches of sandy beaches and rugged cliffs feature in her work. She also enjoys the white sands and turquoise waters of the West and East Coast of Scotland and the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
